Mrs. Wilma Whitsett Thacker departed this life on Sunday morning, January 14, 2024.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was of the Methodist faith. During her leisure, she enjoyed mastering crossword and jigsaw puzzles, gardening, fishing, cooking and caring for the birds.
We thank God for her beautiful life and precious memories.
Her parents, Marion Whitsett and Turner Martin; beloved husband, Wilbert Thacker; siblings, Sadie Harrison, Madie Helem, John Marshall, Leroy Marshall and Edna Barnes, preceded her in death.
Survivors are: a loving son, Donnell Thacker (Deidra); grandchildren, Deondra Thacker and Desmond Thacker (Brie); great-grandchildren, Leandre and Alexiona Peatross; sisters, Hazel Bolden (Cecil) and Edith Blackwell (Melvin); sister-in-law, Victoria Martin; special nieces, Nancy Tabb (Sonny) and Aretha Pickard; other relatives and friends.
