Victor Daniel Wright, Sr. 79, of Reidsville went to be with the Lord Wednesday August 10, 2022 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday August 15, 2022 at Reidsville Christian Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends 1:00 till 2:00 P.M. Monday August 15, 2022 before the service at the church and at other times will be at the residence.
A native of Pound, VA, he was a son of the late William Troy and Vera Belle Maynard Wright and a grandson of the late Devil John Wright. He had lived in Reidsville for the past 50 years. He enjoyed reading and was a voracious learner, he received a BS Degree from Lincoln Memorial University and a Masters Degree from Radford University. A retired chemistry teacher, he had taught at Reidsville Senior High, Rockingham County High School and Tunstall High School in Virginia. A former member of Community Baptist Church, he was a member of Reidsville Christian Church. Mr. Wright was a member of United Commercial Travelers, and was a fan of all University Kentucky sports, LA Dodgers Baseball the Green Bay Packers and Tom Brady. He enjoyed gardening, eating and attending Meals With Friends and the Bible Study at the Reidsville Senior Center. He never met a stranger, and he loved to help people in need. He was known for handing out two dollar bills, even to people he had just met. Victor was preceded in death by his sisters: Louise W. Hibbitts, and Jackie W. Stallard and his brothers: John Wright, Bill Wright and Frank Wright.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years: Carolyn Mills Wright of the home, son: Danny Wright (Melissa) of Indianapolis, IN, daughter: Dana Wright of Lynchburg, VA, granddaughters: Tori Wright and Allie Wright both of Chicago, IL, brother: Lowell Wright (Una) of Mineral, VA, and a special niece: Brenda Witt (Bill) of Mineral, VA.
