Mrs. Vernell Tonkins Butts, age 86, transitioned from this life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the home of her daughter in Smithfield, VA.

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, viewing will take place from 4-6 p.m. at Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Tabernacle Baptist Church East End, 1408 Marshall Avenue, Newport News, VA.

Please keep her daughter, Lucy Butts Watkins who recently lost her husband (Donald Watkins) and the Watkins family who reside in the Reidsville and Caswell County area in your thoughts and prayers.
