Obituary: TERESA ANNE GRIFFIN
























































T. Anne Griffin passed away November 17, 2022 at Gibson House in Wentworth, NC.

A graduate of Madison-Mayodan High School and UNC-Greensboro, Anne studied in the Opera Fellowship Program at the NC School of the Arts and received a master’s in vocal performance from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. During her career, she sang with Opera Roanoke, Kentucky Opera, the Washington DC Opera and with the Paul Hill Chorale. Anne taught music in the Roanoke College Preparatory Division as well as public school music in Rockingham County NC and Fairfax VA. She held a certificate in non-profit management from Duke University and served as executive director and consultant to various nonprofit organizations and foundations. She also enjoyed a career in church music for over 50 years, having played piano in her church at age of 12. For the past eight years, she served Advent Moravian Church in Winston-Salem.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Grace Griffin of Mayodan and beloved dog, Jesse, and survived by one uncle, Sam Griffin of Roanoke, VA and many cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 22, at 3 p.m. at GreeNest, 630 Brookstown Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC. If it threatens snow or ice, the service will be held on January 29.
