Obituary: TENNIE McGUIRE HALL
























































Tennie McGuire Hall, 80, of Eden passed away early Sunday morning, November 5, 2023 at her residence. She was born December 15, 1942 to Walter and Callie McGuire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James McGuire and Calvin McGuire, Sr.; her sisters, Nancy Ward, Becky King; and her grandson, Drayven Hall.

Tennie was an active member of Spray Baptist Church of Eden, NC. She was a former member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church for over 25 years, where she loved to sing in the choir and taught four- and five-year-old Sunday School.

She was a graduate of Morehead High School class of 1961 and earned an associate’s degree in Office Systems Technology at Randolph Community College. She retired from Rochester Midland Corporation.

Tennie is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Morris L. Hall, Jr; her children, Michele Smith (Nathan) of Salter Path, Mary Fuller (Ronnie) of Asheboro, Rev. Morris Lester Hall, III (Mandy) of Climax, Rev. Matthew Hall (Christie) of Colfax; her sisters, Marie McGuire of Eden, Barbara Cousin (Bishop Waverly) of Cascade, Virginia, Joanne Majors (Ronnie) of Greensboro, Shirley Carter (John) of Reidsville, Marion Land (Chris) of Greensboro; her brother, Mack McGuire (Carol) of Tryon; her brother-in-law, Mark Hall of Burlington; her sister-in-law, Mollie Manley (Randy) of Reidsville; her 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 foster grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Tennie was a wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother, who was deeply loved by all her family. She was our prayer warrior and a wonderful example of Christ’s love for us and others. She loved her family, and especially celebrating the holidays with her extended family. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Spray Baptist Church, preceded by private interment at Overlook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or the UNC Rockingham Foundation.
