Sarah Jacqueline Wilson “Jackie” Lemons, 92, of Iron Works Rd. Reidsville, N.C went to be with her Lord Friday December 27, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Jackie was a native of Rockingham County and had lived there her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Franklin C. and Gladys Sharp Wilson and was a member of Speedwell Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, Co-Treasurer, and was a member of The Women of the Church. Throughout the years Jackie served on many different committees as needed within the church.
Jackie was a graduate of Bethany High School and attended Guilford College and Guilford Technical Community College. She retired from AT&T/Lucent Technologies, Inc. after 35 years of service as a methods investigator. She was also a former employee of Western Electric and Bell Labs. She was a life member of The Telephone Pioneers of America.
Jackie enjoyed working outside in her flower garden. She loved her many dogs over the years, along with cooking (she was an excellent cook), and working crossword puzzles. She read the Bible most every day and had read the Bible through a number of times.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years: Paul Henry Lemons, Jr. of the home, her son: Larry Alan Lemons Sr. (Jean), granddaughters: Karla Lemons Holt (Marty) of Ramseur, Lori Ann Lemons of Reidsville, April L. Lemons ( Cat Crago) of Tucker, Ga, great grandchildren: Jack Holt ( Madison), Brittney Grubbs (Phillip), Morgan McKinney, Matthew McKinney, and Meredith McKinney.
She was preceded in death by her grandson: Larry Alan “L.J.” Lemons, Jr., four brothers: Alton G. Wilson, Ralph I. Wilson, Curtis F. Wilson, and Woodrow Wilson, three sisters: Aletha Wilson, Edna Wilson, and Hilda W. Durham. Jackie has several nieces: Brenda W. Hartsell (Larry), Mary W. Pauly, Bonnie W. Ledbetter, Ann W. West, Donna W. McCall, Sara D. Kelly (Charles), Susan D. Smith (Jim), and several nephews: Alton Gray Wilson, Jr., Ronald Wilson, John Wilson (Penny), and Michael Durham.
There will be no formal visitation.
