Rodney Dell Johnson, 46 of Mayodan, NC, died November 20, 2022, at his home.
Rodney was born March 28, 1976, in Eden, NC, to Roger and Judy Johnson. Rodney met his soulmate, Kayla Inman, when he was 21. They enjoyed 25 long years together and had two beautiful daughters, Cheyenne Inman and Brystal Johnson. Rodney enjoyed doing anything outside and was passionate about hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers and dirt bikes, and working on anything he could get his hands on. He loved guns and often spent time shooting them; he had an extensive collection. Rodney loved teaching his daughter, Cheyenne, how to work on things and watching Golden Girls with his daughter, Brystal. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and watching them as they grew up. Rodney’s best friend and companion was a brown Pitbull named Little Man that followed him everywhere.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Roger Johnson and Lonnie Inman; his niece, Danielle Johnson; grandparents, Oscar and Elizabeth Sizemore, Odell and Viola Johnson; and uncles, Ralph Sizemore, Bobby Lee, and Tony Goins.
His surviving family includes his wife, Kayla Inman; children, Cheyenne Inman and Brystal Johnson; mothers, Judy Johnson and Deanie Inman; sisters, Melissa Johnson and Gina Bogar (Kenny); nieces, Chelsey Inman, Brooke Purdy, Montana Inman, Cassie Inman, Kandis Hylton, Stormy Tolbert, Melana Alley, and Raelynn Land; nephews, Joseph Epperson (Isabella), Dakota Hall, Thomas Brown, Brandon Hylton, Andrew Johnson, Dustin Epperson, Harley Johnson, and Ryan Tolbert; special friends, Matt Goins, Michael Case, and Lupe Medina; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 6-8pm and other times at the home. The funeral service will be held at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 2pm with interment to follow at the Inman Family Cemetery located at 610 Means Creek Rd, Mayodan, NC 27027.
