Obituary: ROBERT O’NEIL STOVALL
























































Robert O’Neil Stovall, 79, born November 24, 1944, died March 6, 2024, at home.

He was a life-long resident of Stokes County, attended Sandy Ridge High School, and retired from the N.C. Department of Agriculture as an inspector. O’Neil served as Stokes County deputy sheriff for a few years. He loved golfing, beach music, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents Robert Manley Stovall and Opal Smith Stovall; wife, Jean Stovall; brother, Charles Stovall, and twin brother, Orell Stovall.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Sherry Stovall; brother, Keith Stovall; grandchildren, Brant Stovall (Amanda), Brock Stovall (Katie), Destiny Rickard (Josh), Rhiannon Isley (Ceirra); great-grandchildren, Sage, Hunter, Braylen, Lina, Calum, Loklan, Hayden, Jensen; cousin and best friend, Mike Stovall. Left to cherish his memory is a host of friends. O’Neil made friends everywhere he went.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
