Obituary: RAMONA WILKINS PRIDDY

Ramona Wilkins Priddy, 92, resident of Mayodan, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at The Penn Center in Reidsville, NC.

A 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Ray Funeral Home, with Rev. Hassell Priddy, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Ramona was born and raised in Stokes County on July 6, 1930, to the late Charlie and Belle Lemons Wilkins. She attended First Baptist Church in Mayodan until her health declined. She became a Christian very early in her life and served The Lord until her last days on earth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Odell Priddy in 2000; daughter, Linda Priddy McMahan (Steve McMahan); sisters, Ruth Shaffer and Catherine Duggins; brothers, Junior Thomas Wilkins, Harold Dean Wilkins, Donald Wayne Wilkins, Larry Ray Wilkins, and C.T. Wilkins.

Surviving are her daughters, Dale Throckmorton (Kenny) and Robin Burroughs (Jerry). Also surviving are two grandsons, Shane Throckmorton and Jeff McMahan; one granddaughter, Tracy Burroughs; two great grandchildren, Kennedy Light and Karter Light. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers.

Ramona grew up on a tobacco farm and her first public job was at Washington Mills Co. She retired from The Burlington Plant on Turner Road, Mayodan, NC in 1992, where she was an Industrial Engineering Clerk in the I.E. Department. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, and traveling with her family. She enjoyed being a member of the Mt. Hermon Golden Agers Club.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Penn Center for all their loving care given to Ramona and their loving support to her family. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Rockingham County for their continuous love and care for Ramona.
