Obituary: MARY SUE ALLEY

Mary Sue Alley, 90, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection, Stuart, VA.

Mrs. Alley was born April 1, 1934, in Stokes County, to the late Charles Marion Moore and Mattie Sue Stevens Moore. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed working at the Coffee Break in Stuart, and socializing with friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Swanson Alley; two brothers, Charles Shelby Moore and Donald Lee Moore; and a sister, Louise Young.

Survivors include a son, Denny Alley (Verneice), of Lawsonville; brother, Neil Moore (Betty), of Walnut Cove; sisters, Janet Moore and Jeannie Lawson, both of Lawsonville; grandsons, Stephen Alley (Lindsey) and Brian Alley (Lindsay); and great-grandchildren, Reveley Alley and Sonoma Alley.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 10, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel with funeral services following at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
