Obituary: MARY RUTH McLAWHON

Mary Ruth McLawhon, 75, left this earthly life Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Gibson House, Hospice of Rockingham County.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Joyce Family Cemetery, adjacent to Joyce Presbyterian Church, 968 Janet Road, Stoneville, NC.
Mary Ruth was born on February 27, 1947, in Rockingham County. She had attended Joyce Chapel Presbyterian Church, and retired after 30 years service from VF Corporation as Human Resource Administrator. She was a 1965 graduate of Stoneville High School and a graduate of Draughon’s Business College, Winston-Salem. Mary Ruth was a gentle lady who was dedicated to the care of her parents, husband, and animals.
She was preceded in death by parents, Pete and Hazel Joyce Chaney
Survivors include her devoted husband of 51 years, Allen “Bud” McLawhon; cousin, Vicki Wells (W.A. Wells); and brother-in-law, Ed McLawhon (Carol).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joyce Family Cemetery Fund,

Special appreciation is extended to all the caregivers at DaVita Dialysis, Cone Hospitals and Cancer Center, and Hospice of Rockingham County.
