Mary Frances Gann, 84, passed away peacefully at UNC- Rockingham Rehab and Nursing Center on February 15, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Beaver Island Baptist Church with burial to follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. until 1:50 p.m.

Mary was born on January 28, 1940 to the late Cleo and Mary Barham. Mary enjoyed working outside in her flowers, shopping and collecting things. Once Mary became ill she enjoyed word puzzles and the company of people visiting her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, reverend Jacob Taylor; sisters, Glenda Barham, Ann Parker.

Survivors include her husband, Wendell Gann; daughters, Mary “Lorraine” Taylor, Betty Jo Carter; grandchildren, Amy Jo Jones; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Allen Jones, Hayden Jones; step children, Wendy Tucker (Jeff), Karen Mabe (Shane); 2 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Vernon, Peggy Biggs, Debbie Gray.

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
