Linda Kay Newman Willard, 77, left this earthly life gracefully and peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Linda was born in Polk County, North Carolina on January 13, 1947 to the late Bennett and Mary Belle Adkins Newman. She attended Madison-Mayodan High School and retired from the textile industry.
Linda was a social butterfly that never met a stranger. She was a great storyteller, as well as a great listener. Linda loved the times that she attended family gatherings. She loved watching the kids run around and play or even coloring and drawing stick people and flowers that they would create just for her. Linda loved hanging out with the Barn Quilt Paint Party ladies. It was her happy place for social gatherings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Willard.
She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Willard; son, Darrin Willard and wife, Wendy; one grandchild, Marie Willard; brothers, Donnie, Benny, Ricky and Jerry Newman and all of their lovely wives; dear sister, Hilda Manuel and many nieces and nephews.
Per the request of her immediate family, there will be no visitation at Linda’s home.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
