Obituary: LENELL HEWITT
























































Lenell Hewitt departed this life on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

He was born on June 26,1964 to the late Eldrige and Alberta Dillard Hewitt, and was the eleventh of twelve children. He attended the local Rockingham County Schools, and was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1982. Lenell worked for numerous companies in textile manufacturing but had a passion for “construction work”. He was presently employed by Busta-Bounce, Incorporated. Lenell joined Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church at an early age and continued to be a faithful viewer on Facebook Live for services. “Jr.”, as he was affectionately called by family, was a fun-loving outgoing person who loved his family and friends. Jr. enjoyed football and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Known to everyone else as “Julio”, he lived his life to the fullest, and was never afraid to take a chance. Julio enjoyed living and spending his time between North Carolina and New York.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Constance Dillard and Sandra England; grandmother, Edna Johnson; great-grandmother, Hattie Tatum and a great-aunt, Mary Gant.

Lenell leaves to cherish his memories: son, Terrence Moyer of San Franciso, California; daughters, Kierstyn March of Durham, Krista Hewitt and Anntrise Hewitt, both of Reidsville; aunt Lourenda Blair; siblings, Lena Blackwell (Samuel), John Dillard (Mary), Sharron Turner (William), Patricia Settle, Larry Dillard (Nancy), Regina Williamson, Cynthia Dillard (Wayne), Vasceylia Dillard and Gregory Hewitt (Tammy); seven grandchildren; dedicated employer, Ben (Buster); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 from the Galilee Greater International Pentecostal Holiness Church, 224 Pennsylvania Avenue. The family visitation will be Friday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. His remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons
