Lena Candance “Candy” Shown Foulks, 66, passed away Thursday evening, January 11, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 15th, at Oasis Baptist Church, 865 Crowder Road in Madison with burial to follow in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 – 2 PM) at Oasis Baptist Church.
Candy was born May 5, 1957 in Guilford County, NC, daughter of the late Billy Franklin Shown and Virginia Stevens Shown. Candy was a member of Oasis Baptist Church. She worked as a farmer and was heavily involved in her church.
She is survived by her son, John Foulks and aunt, Virginia Rice
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul “J. P.” Foulks, Jr. along with her infant brother, Steven Franklin Shown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel, 127 Ellisboro Road, Madison, NC 27025, to assist the family with the cost of funeral expenses.
