Obituary: JOYCE RAKESTRAW CAYTON

Joyce Rakestraw Cayton, 82, passed away on Thursday May 30, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 5 ,2024 at Colonial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ellisboro Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m until 1:50 p.m.

Joyce was born on April 26, 1942 to the late Walter and Thelma Rakestraw. You would often find her at Bob’s Restaurant, piddling in her flowers, or watching her favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Earnheart Jr. Joyce loved her cocker spaniels and Elvis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wade Cayton Sr.

She is survived by her son, William Wade Cayton Jr.
