Jerry “Jimmy” Oneal McHone, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, November 9, 2023, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, November 13th, at Bald Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at 235 Ziglar Road in Madison.
Jimmy was born April 20, 1954 in Stuart, VA, to the late Alvin Eugene McHone and Alma Frances Lawless McHone. He was a member of Bald Hill Baptist Church and retired from Pextile in Stoneville. Jimmy loved spending time with his family, watching westerns and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marinda Turner McHone; two sons, Billy Oneal McHone and Jerry Lee McHone; brothers, Alvin W. McHone and Johnny E. McHone (Marie); sister-in-law, Rachel McHone; brother-in-law, Isaac “Butch” Hill; along with many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sterling T. McHone and sisters, Mary Jane Moore, Nancy McHone Martin and Peggy Anne Hill.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Annie Penn Hospital, Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Duke Medical Center for all their care and compassion.
