Obituary: JAVON PERDUE
























































Javon Perdue, 82, of Madison, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at his home.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Torrey Easler officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Javon was born in Rockingham County on August 30, 1941, to the late Edward and Dovie Via Perdue. He was a member of Mayodan Methodist Church and retired from Sears Roebuck Mail Order House with over 30 years of employment. Javon had a great sense of humor and loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very artistic and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He also loved the Duke Blue Devils and the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Pat Perdue; his daughter, Karen Perdue; brothers, George, Coolidge, Leon, Delbert, Haroldine, and Vinson Perdue; and his sisters, Opal Daniel, Marie Grogan, and Geraldine Farmer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cindy Martin (Steve) of Mayodan; his grandchildren, Daniel Tuggle, Ashley Gonzalez (Adam), Jessy Kendrick (Cory), Josh Kendrick (Jordan), and Erin Nicholson; and 16 great grandchildren.
