James Richard Hendricks, 77, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday evening, August 8th, at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6:30 PM prior to the service.
James was born February 11, 1946 in Taylor County, Wisconsin to the late William “Billy” Hendricks and Nora Alton Hendricks. He was a retired Sergeant Major of the US Army after 24 years of service to his country. James enjoyed fishing, playing golf, reading, and watching baseball and football games.
He is survived by his wife of more than 25 years, Patsy K. Hendricks; two daughters, Stacey Turner and Jenny Southern (Derek); five grandchildren, Julien Hendricks, Emily Southern, Ellie Southern, Erick Southern and Nathan Griffis and two great-grandchildren, Magnus and Leyla Griffis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Jason Hendricks, James Hendricks and Jeremy Hendricks.
