Henry Mc Thaddon “HenRock” Hayes, II departed this life on Thursday evening, June 22, 2023.
He was a native of Guilford County, North Carolina and a resident of Rockingham County for the majority of his life. Attending the local public schools, he was a graduate of Reidsville High School where he was an outstanding football player. “Henrock”, as he was affectionately referred by family and friends, operated Backstreet Seafood & More, Still Rolling and attended Bass Chapel United Methodist Church. Being well-liked and very respectful, he was adored by all who knew him. He had a kind-heart of gold and was willing to always help others. He was a remarkable person who loved his family, friends and community. Deeply, he will be missed.
His fathers, Henry Hayes, Sr. and Angelo Galloway; uncles, Charles Chambliss, Jr. and Larry Chambliss, Sr., preceded him in death.
Survivors are: his loving children, Malaylae Hayes, Zamari Winchester, Kahlee Hayes, Mason Carmichael, Jeremiah Hayes, Heaven Hayes, Harmony Hayes and Coby Hayes; beloved mother, Penny Galloway; sisters, Chykeash Weeks and LaShaun Hayes (Jaquay); brothers, Brandon Gordon, De’Angelo Galloway and Jonathan Galloway; aunts and uncles, Min. Bruce Chambliss (Pastor Deborah), Reginald Chambliss (Francis), Johnnie Chambliss (Billie), Linda Artis, Donna Chambliss, Sharon Chambliss, Gale Wiley, Jewel Chambliss, LaVaughn Chambliss (Tony), Cheyenne Ford (Barron), Alfred Lee Galloway (Cathlean) and Shirley Hayes; special friends, Tyreka Slade, “Bro Hayes”, Adrian Robertson “Crazy A”, Alexis Slade and Shemika Brown; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2023 from the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 7236 US Highway 29 Business with Pastor William Hairston presiding and Min. Bruce Chambliss, eulogist. The family visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 until 2:30 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Saturday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
