Harriet Emma Martin Washburn, 82, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at her home.
Harriet was born in Leaksville on January 26, 1942, a daughter of Harry and Charlotte Martin, both deceased. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills with 36 years of service. In her younger years, she played basketball and softball. She met the love of her life, Kenneth “Foot” Washburn, on the softball field. She told her friend, “I’m going to marry that 3rd baseman.” She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed helping at different charities.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth “Foot” Washburn; her daughter, Ginger Terry and her son-in-law, Howard Davis.
Harriet is survived by her daughters, Andrea Davis of Reidsville, Kristi Ratliff and husband Chuck of Reidsville; her sisters, Beth Hall and husband George, Marylee Craig and husband Jim; her grandchildren, Jason Terry of Eden, Chris Terry of Greensboro, Bracken Davis of Stoneville, Mason Davis and fiancé Alaina of Eden, Hayden Davis of Reidsville, Taylor Ratliff of Reidsville, Jentry Washburn of Reidsville; and her six great grandchildren.
