Ms. Gracie Johnson Price departed this life on Thursday afternoon, August 31, 2023.
As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, she attended the local public schools and was a former employee of Superior Advertising. She attended Jerusalem United Holy Church. During her leisure, she enjoyed cooking, playing cards, dominos and watching games shows on television.
Her father, Ernest Johnson; great-grandmother, Gracie Thornton, preceded her in death. Survivors are: daughters, Zena D. Johnson, Janet L. Johnson (David), Garcia L. Galloway and Cherry N. Galloway (Thurmal); granddaughter, Tylianacoll Hadley; beloved mother, Doris Adams Johnson; sisters, Irene R. Slade and Tonya Gunter (Timothy); brothers, Ernest Rico Johnson (Stacey), Tyrone Eli Johnson and Samuel D. Johnson (Lisa); aunt, Florence Ann Waddell; uncle, James Johnson; special friend, Joann Courts; fiance’, Allen Williard; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Pastor Walter King presiding. Her remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons.
