Eunice Sproles Sexton, 92, of Walkertown, formerly of Stoneville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Monday, December 11, 2023 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ayersville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm Monday before the service at the funeral home. For those that are unable to attend the service in person, her service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on this page underneath her obituary.
Eunice was born in Washington County, VA on September 22, 1931, a daughter of Sidney Zachry Sproles and Daisy Black Sproles, both deceased. She was a retired front-end manager of Byrd’s Food Store in Madison. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Eden.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sexton; her siblings, Freda Barnes, Ruth Moore and Sidney Sproles; and her stepson, Jack Sexton.
Eunice is survived by her daughter, Zachry Kay Sharron (Roger); her son, Gary Frank Sexton (Brenda); her grandchildren, Roxanne Davenport (Mike), Nicholas Blake Sexton (Chloe), Christopher Cole Sexton (Katie), Dr. Brittany Sexton Stevens (Patrick), Taylor Luke Sexton (Madison); her great grandchildren, Kristina Davenport Howard (Tyler), Charity Mae Davenport, Blake Sexton, Avery Sexton and Sloane Stevens; her stepdaughter, Thelma Mullery; and her step daughter-in-law, Alice Sexton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her care giver, Sandra Barton and her nephew, Earl Sexton for their kindness and care given to Eunice over the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Medi Home Hospice.
