Obituary: ETHEL MAE ANDERSON HOLLOWAY
























































Mrs. Ethel Mae Anderson Holloway, the beloved wife of Deacon Ernest Holloway, Jr., departed this life on Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2022. 

Born on February 27, 1952 in Leland, Mississippi, she was the offspring of the late Mary Anderson Davis and Albert Davis.  She attended Lincoln Attendance Center and graduated in 1970.  At an early age, accepted Christ as her Saviour and became a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church.  After relocating to North Carolina, she established membership at M & L Faith Memorial Tabernacle Church where she served as a Deaconess, Usher and member of the Kitchen Committee.  Pursuing several vocational careers, she was a former Stockroom Attendant at Brockway Glass Company, a Health Care Provider for Visitor Homemakers and was a Care Provider for Highgrove Longterm Care Center. 

Survivors are: a loving husband, Deacon Ernest Odell Holloway, Jr.; daughter, Carla Nieves (Edwin); son, Alvin Davis, Sr.; grandchildren, Destinae (Brian), Lydon (Briann), Alvin, Jr. and Ebony; great-grandchildren, Lydon, Jr., Paradise, Tyzai, Amish and Taylen; sisters, Barbara Harris (John), Shirlen Anderson, Vera Davis (LeAndrew), Velma Edd (John) and Jackie Reese; brothers, Edward Rice, Allen Rice and Albert Davis; sister-in-law, Mary Russell; brothers-in-law, Melford Holloway (Robin) and Michael Holloway (Penny); special friends, Connie Morris (Sam), Mother Willie Mae Lawson and Rev. Brenda Gwynn; other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Saturday, October 8, 2022 from the M & L Faith Memorial Tabernacle Church, 537 Warriner Street with Pastor James A. Lawson as the eulogist and Rev. Brenda Lawson Gwynn, presiding. 

The family will receive friends Friday from 11:30 until 12:00 p.m. at the church.  Public viewing will be Friday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
