Ernest Lee “Bally” Wilson departed this life on Tuesday afternoon, January 9, 2024.
He was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina and a resident of Charlotte for the past 20 years. “Bally”, as he was affectionately referred by family and close friends, attended the local public schools and was presently employed by Southern Precision Spring Company. Spiritually, he was a former member of the United House of Prayer and attended In Truth Ministries. During his leisure, he enjoyed watching westerns on television with his favorite being Gunsmoke, spending time with family and eating his sister’s delicious Sweet Potato Crunch. An avid sportsman, he supported the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Lakers.
His father, Thomas Wilson, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: beloved mother, Margaret Moore Wilson; sisters, Betty Mincey (Theron) and Vicky Wilson; brothers, James D. Wilson, Edward Clark, Jr. and James Clark; additional sisters and brothers; uncles, Gary Moore and Kenneth Moore; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Pastor Walter King presiding. The family visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Public viewing will be Monday afternoon at Johnson & Sons.
