Dorothy May Moore Breeze, 92, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024 at Penn Nursing Center. She was born on June 5, 1931 to the late Lillian Moore and R.T. Moore.
Dorothy was a kind, selfless lady, and an exceptional, loving mother who blessed countless souls with her words, “Bless Your Heart”. Family gathered at her home for birthdays, holidays and Sunday dinner and, while she never knew how many she would be feeding, good food was always plentiful. She was a former member of Hillview Presbyterian Church and an avid UNC Tarheels basketball and Atlanta Braves baseball fan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert B. “Buddy” Breeze, sons Richard B. Breeze and Gilbert B. Breeze, Jr. and grandson Richard B. Breeze, Jr.
Leaving to cherish her memory are: daughter, Kay Breeze Tucker and son, C. Scott Breeze (Shirley); grandchildren, Susan Hendrix, William Hendrix, Emily Tucker, Dorothy Breeze, Bennett Breeze, Savannah Breeze; sister, Charlotte Turner (Sammy); and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests at 10:00 a.m. on January 15 at Citty Funeral Home with service to follow at 11:00. Mama’s favorite color was red so, if possible, wear a touch of red in her honor.
The family is grateful to staff at PNC (especially Betty) for the care Dorothy was provided for the past 7 1/2 years.
We know she’s at a better home in the sky, but Lord we hate to see her go.
