Celebrating the Life of Donald W. Gilliam
On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Donald W. Gilliam entered the holy presence of the God of all creation. Jesus Christ said in John 5:24, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” Don believed the words of John 5:24 and was convinced that Jesus Christ died on the cross for his sins, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. He was forgiven of his sins and given the gift of eternal life the moment he trusted in Jesus Christ. Don is rejoicing in heaven with Jeanne, his wife of forty-six years, who entered the presence of the Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 3, 2000.
Don was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was and will continue to be a tremendous blessing to the twenty members of his family.
Donald W. Gilliam is survived by his sons Jeff (Erva) Gilliam, Garret (Janie) Gilliam, daughter Rebecca Newman; grandchildren Kristin (Geoff) Barton, Brandon Gilliam, Amber Capps, Trevor (Kelly) Gilliam, Austin Gilliam, Micah Gilliam, Savannah Newman, and Jake Newman; great-grandchildren Svea Barton, Connor Barton, Theodore Gilliam, Raye Leigh Gilliam, and Lilia Joy Gilliam.
The graveside celebration service with military rites will be held at Thompsonville Baptist Church, 2033 NC-87 Reidsville, NC 27320 at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023.
Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Gilliam family.
