Obituary: CLAUDE DARNELL CHAMBERS
























































Claude Darnell Chambers, the beloved father of Tracy Chambers Forde, departed this life on Wednesday evening, August 2, 2023.

He was a native of Person County and a resident of Guilford County for the majority of his life. He was a graduate of Bartlett-Yancey High School, Class of 1970 and a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He pursued further education at North Carolina A & T State University and Piedmont Technical Community College, receiving an Associate Degree in Business Management. “Darnell”, as he was affectionately referred by family and close friends, was a member of the North Carolina National Guard and was the proprietor of Chambers Trucking. At a tender age, he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized into the fellowship of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Semora and later established membership at East White Oak Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Benjamin Mittman.

His parents, Earlean Elliott Chambers and Claude Chambers; grandparents, James & Betty Elliott; beloved wife, Marilyn Joan Chambers; brothers, Jerry, Bobby, Gerald Michael and Rickey Chambers, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: a loving daughter, Tracy Chambers Forde (Alvin); grandchildren, Nicolas Taylor (U.S. Army) and Malasia Russell; nephews, Teddy Stewart (Desiree) and Tibrius Jeffries; niece, Latoya Mc Cain; former wife, Christine Chambers; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street, Reidsville. The family visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Public viewing will be Monday afternoon at Johnson & Sons.
