Obituary: CHERYL “LYNN” HUNDLEY SIMMONS
























































Cheryl “Lynn” Hundley Simmons, 66, passed away Saturday morning, February 3, 2024, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 10th, at Mayodan Methodist Church.

A native and life-long resident of Rockingham County, Lynn was born April 17, 1957 in Eden to the late William Hundley and Jean Carter Hundley. She worked nearly 30 years with MacField / Unifi. Lynn was a very active member of Mayodan Methodist Church where she served on various committees. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by so many.

Lynn is survived by her two children, Luke Simmons (Brandy Simmons) and Jessica Simmons Dehart (Craig Dehart); four grandchildren, Gavin Dehart, Emma Dehart, Aubrey Simmons and Carter Simmons; sisters, Pam Hundley Collins (Randall Collins), Phyllis Hundley Gilbert (Ernest Gilbert) and Joyce Hundley Steele (Billy Steele); brothers, Duane Hundley (Brenda Hundley) and Scott Hundley; brother-in-law, Dean Simmons; sister-in-law, Phyllis Simmons; “special sisters”, Wanda Joyce Payne and Tammy Joyce; along with eight nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Simmons; grandfather, Francis Carter; grandmother, Maude Carter and her beloved dog and best friend, Frank.

In lieu of flowers, Lynn has requested that memorial contributions may be made to Mayodan Methodist Church, PO Box 219, Mayodan, NC 27027 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
