Mrs. Carolyn Sue Brooks Isley, 76, of Brown Summit went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, January 5th, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born November 11, 1947 in Guilford County, daughter of the late Philip Elmore Brooks and Mozelle Gordon Brooks. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Madalynn Hope Brown.
Carolyn worked in Human Resources at Shelby Mutual Insurance Company in Greensboro.
She later worked as a receptionist at US Trust until her retirement in 2006. A lifelong member of Osceola Baptist Church, Carolyn faithfully served as church pianist for over 60 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Isley, of the home; daughter Angie Brown and husband, Doug, of Brown Summit; sisters Brenda Brown of Brown Summit; and sister Diane Goodman (Benny) of Reidsville; and 2 grandchildren, Micah Douglas Brown and Abigail Grace Brown; numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on January 10, 2024 at Wilkerson Funeral Home chapel in Reidsville, NC, with burial at 2pm at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service, and other times at the residence.
