EDEN, N.C. (February 22, 2024) – Loparex, the leading global producer of release liners and engineered films, today announced plans to suspend manufacturing operations at its Eden, North Carolina site. Over the course of the next 6 months, Loparex will suspend operations, resulting in a workforce reduction of 91 employees.
Existing Loparex manufacturing sites in Hammond, Wisconsin, and Iowa City, Iowa will be utilized to maintain a seamless supply of release liners to customers.
The reduction in workforce will occur in two phases with the first phase scheduled for May 1, 2024, and the second phase for September 1, 2024. A handful of positions will remain at the Eden site to maintain assets and the facility.
“This decision was a difficult one and has been given significant thought and consideration. I recognize the deep history of the Eden site and the dedication of our employees there. Providing transition support to these employees is a top priority for us,” said Rich Holder, Loparex CEO.
Along with providing advance notice to employees, Loparex will offer all affected employees a range of resources to support their transition to new employment. This includes connecting them with local employers and agencies that can help them secure new opportunities.
